Expression of self healing stage 3 cancer
The oncologists delight
Lisa Sanderson, September 20th 2026
Last week my oncologist told me I should “go to the media”. She said that the self-healing of an ulcerated, fungating cancer was a miracle and that she was totally amazed. Zero radiation and zero chemotherapy ever. And no hormone therapy or targeted naturopathic cancer treatment in the last 9 months. Just self-healing cancer. Her face told me everything – and it echoed her words – “this is amazing, we never see this”. Not even to mention that the tumours under the armpit can no longer be felt.
After 2+ years of an open, fungating, painful, cancerous wound that could visibly grow and spread before my eyes, to a healing that started in a moment. And once the healing started in March 2026 (approx. 5 months ago), it only took less than 3 months to no longer require a dressing. A healing.
When did the physical healing start? In a moment in meditation, when I felt it, and KNEW it was healing. That I was already whole. Why? Because in that moment of what was a very 'ordinary' meditation, I realised that not only did I want to live, but that I deserved to live - and I hadn't even realised that my body was thinking all along that it didn't deserve to. Sneaky blind spots in beliefs that completely opposed my thinking mind, which was that it was mostly in love with life. But those two halves came together in that moment.
Not that the healing was always that easy - while it was in that moment, it was preceded by years of taking a deep dive internally, spending my life savings on alternative treatments that didn't work, working through exhaustion, fear, grief, pain, guilt, shame, sadness and sometimes depression. But the healing in itself happened in a moment.
A miracle? To some. A new normal? Why not. There are so many of us now doing it ourselves.
Next stop, full body CT scan to see what’s going on inside and whether the 8 cm+ tumour that was noticeably and rapidly growing for over 3 years has also felt the love.
I’ll be sharing more about this as time goes on, but for this week, for today, for this MOMENT, I’m celebrating life with those that I love. And feeling grateful for all those who stood by me and believed in me and knew that not only could I do this, but that I had to do it myself (with the loving support of others).
